New prints! Just in time for the @yegartwalk!

I’ve now got prints of 15 of my favourite pieces, and I can’t wait to share them, as well as a whackload of new originals and hand-drawn jewelry.

I’m in spot #2, on the corner of Why
The @yegartwalk is but two days away, and I made these sweet little circles just for the festival, inspired by the kids of @davidsoncreekelementary. I can’t wait to share them and many more pieces this weekend, and to check out the amazing work
Test driving my art market set up. Just add art!

I’ll be at @yegartwalk July 11-13, right on the corner of Whyte Ave and 104, across from @pactcoffeeco. The following weekend, I’ll be at @tasteofedm on July 18, and @leducartsfoundry Art
It’s done! This biggie has been a beautiful lesson in embracing imperfection through these organic shapes. My instinct is to drive for symmetry, but this piece has many, many imperfect shapes that bothered me throughout the process. But now tha
I’m thrilled to have found these super cute circle frames! Love how they finish these sample pieces I made for the school project. I’m doing up a bunch of these to sell at summer markets!

Speaking of… if you’re in #yeg, come
Not my art, but the art of the kids of @davidsoncreekelementary! It was a joy to teach them my style of doodling, and to put it together into a large collaborative mural.

This piece will be on display at the school, as a way of commemorating the fi
A wee little warm up before I jump into finishing the @davidsoncreekelementary project today. I haven’t drawn in this style for a while, and I am rusty! But my hand does love these tiny intricate shapes.

Now I’m off to make great big sw
The paper flattening commences! Another reason, beyond apocalypse preparedness, why having a prodigious collection of books and board games is essential!

Cutting the paper off the roll is definitely a two person job. Then I spritzed it with a fine
This box represents so many possibilities. I’ve experimented with a lot of different papers, and for my purposes, @archespapers is the best of the best. This is acid-free, archival, 100% cotton, 156 lb/356 gsm hot press watercolor paper, which
I’ve been working on this large piece for a bit more than a month, so time for an update!

This is a perfect example of the piece knowing better than I do what it wants! I was intending to add mossy green and coral elements, but it wants to st
Spent the day drawing with 102 12 year-olds today. And holy cats! Was I ever impressed. They were totally focused, so engaged, and just generally completely lovely. I was especially worried about asking 12-year-old boys to draw flowers, but it wasn&r
More samples for the @davidsoncreekelementary kids! Excited to meet them this week, and get them started on their own pieces!

A sample for the elementary school project I’m working on. It’s a whole different scale — fat pen, small paper, relatively large motifs. I want to make it easy for new artists, and also fast enough that we can accomplish it in the a
Sometimes the littlest decisions seem so big!

I’ve been stalled on this one for a long time. I couldn’t for the life of me decide on colours for the swoopy fronds, so it sat on my work table for over a month, half finished.

So, I final
Experiments! Testing new paper — Stonehenge — and playing with gold leaf.

Both experiments weren’t quite wins, though I do like the finished product. The Stonehenge paper didn’t give me the super smooth, effortless gradients
I listened to Sir David Attenborough’s life story while drawing this large piece, and I’m grateful for his long life, as this piece spanned more than 60 years of his wild adventures — and roughly 18 hours of audiobook joy.

It’s hard to capture the space in a photograph, but it felt awesome seeing my art babies in a gallery-like setting at the @walterdaleplayhouse, as part of the Cradle to Stage Festival. If you’re in #yeg, be sure to check out the festival
Super quick doodle to test how @sharpie pens will work with baby oil and the paper I’ve picked for my collaborative project with the kids of @davidsoncreekelementary. I want to use supplies that are easily accessible and affordable for the scho
